Joseph Thompson • Communications and Marketing Coordinator

Joseph has helped produce every event and educational seminar offered by Capitol View Arts.  He is the assistant manager at the Victory Grill and operates his own marketing and promotion company, Billionaire Bling.  You can also find him as a popular DJ at many local events. Joseph is instrumental in outreach to the minority and east Austin communities.  He is a student at Full Sail University and a United States Army veteran.

Marla Buonodono • Art and Graphic Design

Marla has experience in graphic design of logos, posters, brochures, advertisements, letterhead, business cards, CD artwork, and much more.  She is experienced in creating portfolios of products for business needs.  Also a musician, you can regularly find Marla performing at local venues and coffee shops. Marla holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from Rice University.  She created the wonderful Capitol View Arts logo and continues to design Capitol View Arts advertisements and banners.

Chris Cowan • IT Consultant

Chris holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and is a software engineer by day.  He keeps the Capitol View Arts website on track along with advising on a myriad of other technology issues.  With a passion for keeping up with current industry trends, Chris is interested in new and emerging technologies in music and entertainment. In his 40 years of playing piano and keyboards, Chris has worked as a club musician and co-owned a record label.

Ron McCain • Sound Engineer and AV

Ron problem solves and operates sound and technology during events and presentations.  With skills as a musician and teacher, his input and instructional ability are vital to producing a successful event and sharing that knowledge with others.  He is employed in Civil Rights at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and has bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Sarah Mitchell • Logistical Support and Administration

Sarah is always willing and available to lend her attention to detail and organizational ability to ensure that Capitol View Arts events run smoothly.  She traveled to the Cutting Edge Music Festival in New Orleans with the group and served as the logistical and administrative support expert, keeping track of the needs of 17 artists.  Sarah is a procurement specialist for Tangoe, Inc.

Mz Marlah • Public Service Announcements, Promotions, and Event Assistance

Marlah Rene is a spoken-word artist, actress, radio personality and producer for over 10 years. She has performed in over 20 theater productions in Chicago and Austin. Host of the popular radio show “Soul Vibrations ”  on KAZI, she is constantly spreading the word about Capitol View Arts.  She also serves as emcee for Capitol View Arts special events.

Kim Reese • Communications

Kim assists AMF in marketing efforts with a particular emphasis on viral marketing and newsletter production.  Kim’s experience with Austin’s music community was gained from her work as Communications Coordinator at Austin Music Foundation.  She also has over ten years experience in corporate messaging, brand building, and marketing.  She is especially intrigued by online marketing and the opportunity it presents for independent artists.  Kim holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from Birmingham-Southern College.

Michael Smith • Graphic Design

A creative and vivid story teller, graphic designer, and community activist, Michael has worked on countless artistic projects.  Producing and presenting shows for at risk youth has earned him multiple awards for his service.  Active in his church and a supporter of Gospel, he has received the Texas Gospel Announcer’s Guild Pioneer Award and was recognized in the 2012 Growing the Tradition event.  Michael creates the many specialized event graphics and flyers for Capitol View Arts seminars and performances.
