Capitol View Arts enriches Austin's equity, creativity, and cultural development landscape by supporting emerging and traditionally under-supported Black creatives and artists of color.
We assist artists in achieving recognition and success by fostering community spirit, promoting pride in Austin's diverse cultural identity, and advancing social justice through artistic expression.
We create inclusive spaces for visual artists, performers, filmmakers, and other creatives to connect by engaging with the community and showcasing their culturally rich works. We do this through educational projects, events, public art, and collaborative spaces, ensuring artists can thrive creatively and financially.
Our Values
Uniting creators, cultural organizations, public institutions, and the private sector to support all art forms.
Collaboration is at the heart of our mission. We bring together a vibrant mix of creators — visual artists, performers, filmmakers, musicians — with cultural organizations and community partners to build something greater than any one of us could alone.
Our Programs
Public Murals
Transforming Austin's neighborhoods through large-scale murals that celebrate Black culture, history, and identity while revitalizing historic spaces.
Artist Development
Empowering artists via our Creative Entrepreneurial Cohort — an intensive professional development program equipping painters, sculptors, photographers, mixed-media artists, illustrators, and other visual creatives with tools to build sustainable careers.

Curated exhibitions showcasing the work of Black artists and creatives, creating visibility and pathways to recognition in Austin's art scene.
